This is a good one because it is the best looking yet and shows more depth to Lara as a character though it is noticeably easier than the old games and features considerable more action than puzzles and adventure. This includes the 2013 reboot, Rise and the books and comic-books released since. Yes, Anniversary is really a remake of Tomb Raider one but they changed a couple of details here and there and it's cool because it's an alternate universe so the story after this game (Legend and Underworld) is different to the story after the original (two, three, the last revelation, chronicles etc).įinally there is the Survivor universe. These games look great and the story is wonderful. Chronologically Anniversary should be played first here (despite being released after legend) and then Legend and then Underworld. This spans Legend, anniversary, Underworld (and also the Guardian of Light and Temple of Osiris, however, they are more like mini games, they are still fun but aren't really essential to the plot or anything). The next timeline is the so-called Legend timeline. While each game has it's own unique and wonderful storyline you are playing as the same Lara, with the same backstory and some plot points will cross-over as will a few characters. This is the original games created by core design and they encapsulate all games from the original tomb raider which was released in 1996 all the way up to the Angel of Darkness. There are three main Tomb Raider universes (and a few smaller ones). I don't play on PS4 so I'm not sure, sorry, however, I can tell you about the way the in-game universes work.
